FAQ

What types of events do you cater?

Any and all types of events: Baby Showers, Birthday’s, Book Club Meetings, Baptisms, Bridal Showers, and everything in between. Even if you want a nice dinner for a few friends and don’t feel like cooking give me a call!

How far in advance do I need to contact you for a catering event?

Ideally the farther out in advance the better so we have time to plan your event to ensure you are getting exactly what you need. If it is a large event a two week minimum notice is required. If it’s a smaller event a week’s notice is okay. Also let’s be realistic, life can be crazy and hectic and just get in the way. If you have something come up where you need some food in a few days and need help, give me call. If I have the day open I will do everything in my power to get it done. I’ve been there done that.

How does the catering process work? I’ve never hosted a catered event.

After the initial contact, I’ll schedule a meeting or call depending on what you prefer, to discuss the details. A week prior to the event I’ll need the final number of guests and a partial payment which is 50% of the total due. The final number of guests is the amount of food that is prepared. You are financially responsible for that amount. If less people show up you will have more leftovers. If more show up I always cook a little extra with the idea that no one leaves hungry. The day of the event I’ll arrive an hour or more before the scheduled eating/start time to set up and get the food ready. I will stay and manage the food throughout the event as needed. If I’m staying until the end of your event I will pack up all of the catering items before I leave. For some events it may make sense for me to stay only during the initial set up. In these cases I will arrange a time to return the next day to collect any items I’ve left behind.

What am I responsible for with the catered event?

Not much. The purpose of me catering for you is that you enjoy your event and don’t stress about the food. I will do all the set up and tear down (If I’m there at the end). I may schedule some time with you to stop by the venue earlier on the day of the event or the day before to set up some items if that’s appropriate. If I’m not there at the end of the event, all I ask that you set the catering items aside and I will return to pick it up. You are not responsible for cleaning any catering dishes or serving utensils.

When is the payment due?

There is a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold the date of your event. This money will go towards the total cost of the event. One week in advance I ask for half of the total due with the balance due the day after the event.
